Kim Basinger At 71, she looks fabulous and a source says she is one of the healthiest stars of her generation, thanks to an extremely strict vegan diet and skin care regimen that has made her the envy of her Hollywood colleagues.
“Kim is incredibly disciplined when it comes to her health and appearance,” an insider tells us exclusively Closer. “She has been vegan for decades and eats a very clean, plant-based diet with no processed foods, no sugar and hardly any alcohol. She does stretching exercises and light yoga every morning and swears by daily walks in nature to keep her mind and body fit.”
“She’s also big on hydration, drinking gallons of water every day and avoiding caffeine. Her skincare routine is just as strict,” the insider adds. “She’s been big on sun protection for as long as anyone can remember, so she never goes outside without a big hat. And she always wears SPF. She says staying out of the sun all these years is the main reason her skin still looks so good.”
The actress, best known for her roles in films such as LA Confidential and The Natural, has long been known for her timeless beauty and stunning red carpet style throughout her Hollywood career. Kim’s famous daughter Ireland Baldwin, who she shares with ex-husband Alec Baldwin, previously shared that she learned some major beauty secrets from her mother.
“I learned about beauty from my mother, from putting on lipstick to washing my face,” Ireland, 29, said Us weekly in April 2017. “My mom only let me buy cruelty-free brands and makeup that wasn’t tested on animals.”
In the same interview, Ireland spoke about her mother being her beauty and style icon after Kim’s decades as a model and Hollywood actress.
“My mother in the ’80s and ’90s,” Ireland told the outlet when asked about her style icons.
“When I think of my mother from that time, I think of her always wearing crazy lip colors,” she said. “I also remember the Twiggy-style mascara on her bottom lashes. She loved to wear purple eyeshadow. Cindy Crawford always wore purple and pastels, and my mom was the same way.”
Now Kim is grandmother to Ireland’s daughter Holland, who welcomed her with a musician RAC.
“I’m not going to lie… there were moments where I was so overwhelmed by all the changes… but overall things were beautiful,” Ireland said of motherhood on Instagram in October 2023.
“It’s so fun to spend time with her and find out what she is,” she said of becoming a mother to her little one. “I would say that most of the stress I’ve been experiencing recently has actually nothing to do with her. Being overtired just makes things worse.”
