CAMP Store (Midtown and Brooklyn): If you are in New York City with children, you MUST bring them to a CAMP store. This is a toy store reinvented. When you first walk in, you’ll see a small, unassuming toy shop where you can buy some unique gifts, but soon you’ll find a secret entrance that takes you to a whole other world. In Manhattan, we discovered that after going through the secret door, we were taken to an interactive toy store where the children could test and rate different toys. There are interactive experiences at every corner and at every point along the way, including a race track for scooters and a giant slide into a pit made of foam blocks. If you go through the secret door in Brooklyn, you will reach a magical elevator that will take you to CAMP. At the camp you will find a sleeping cabin with a secret slide leading to a dance room, a magical lake, horses (toys) to ride, balls to play with and even an ice cream parlor. That’s right – every CAMP store has some sort of refreshment stand. There’s a full-fledged cafe in Manhattan with pastries and espresso. There’s an ice cream shop in Brooklyn full of incredible flavors. Another thing I love: the family bathrooms. Every single bathroom in the CAMP Store is a family bathroom, giving you space to take care of your children’s needs. Finally, CAMP offers a stroller check, so you can frolic around the store without having to lug your stuff around. Overall, if you’re traveling to New York City with kids, you need to put CAMP on your must-do list.
